ARTS COORDINATOR – MARYSVILLE TOURISM & ARTS CENTRE
Part time, 0.4 FTE (16 hours per week)
Salary range from $22,000 – $22,400 (+ superannuation)
The Committee of Management of the new Marysville Tourism & Arts Centre is seeking a dynamic and experienced arts coordinator to develop arts and culture programs and events for the Centre, including curating of art exhibitions (painting, photography, sculpture, multi-media, etc.) and performing arts programs (theatre, comedy, music, dance, film, multi-media, etc). In order to develop a vibrant community arts, craft and culture program, the Arts Coordinator will be working in close cooperation with existing local community arts, craft and culture groups wanting to use the Centre for regular activities. This includes the development of a workshop program, involving artists/artistic mentors from a variety of fields. The Arts Coordinator will work cooperatively with the Centre Manager to coordinate day-to-day activities and special events and contribute arts-related promotional material for the local and regional press, social media and the UGFM Marysville radio studio.
If you are a creative and motivated professional with specialist knowledge of how the arts and culture industry functions within a regional context and who works well independently and in a team, we’d like to hear from you. You will need to demonstrate experience in curatorial and events management, excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to liaise with a wide range of people including local community groups, artists, arts related organisations and government agencies.
