Alexandra & District Open Gardens Weekend Oct 28th and 29th 2006   A wonderful selection of 15 gardens from towns in the district, including Marysville, Buxton, Taggerty, Alexandra, Acheron and Koriella.   Many of the gardens, which are opening are new to The Alexandra & District Open Gardens Weekend plus there are some of which are returning after a period of some years absence. With a mixture of town and country gardens there is something to appeal to everyone Old gardens with magnificent structure, stately trees and well established borders of roses and other bedding plants Gardens with magnificent rural views over the rolling Alexandra countryside Gardens with spectacular bulb and perennial displays Quirky gardens with sculpture and other wonderful attributes Properties with prime river frontages which show a different side to country gardening in our area The gardens are open from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday, entry is by ticket of $3 at the gate or a joint ticket can be purchased for $20, which provides access to all gardens open.   The catalogue with garden details can be purchased at the Visitor Information Centres in Alexandra, Yea, and Marysville, or through several cafes, nurseries and newsagencies throughout the district.   Proceeds raised support local community care services.
